Veterinary Homeopathic Counseling Services

As a veterinary homeopath I spend several hours on a patient's case. Homeopathy, a system to build health and resistance to illness – once mainstream at the turn of the century, but is now considered an alternative health care system. The case is all the relevant, mental, emotional and physical symptoms that the patient (dog, cat etc) is currently experiencing. I then analyze the case using a Repertory and Materia Medica. The Repertory is a book that serves as an index to all of the symptoms. A Materia Medica is a text that describes each remedy (about 4500) and the symptoms and diseases associated with it. After analyzing the case, I must choose the one remedy that most closely relates to the symptoms that the animal's guardian has given me.

As a veterinary homeopath, I see my role as working in tandem with a veterinarian; blood work and diagnostics can be useful. I do not diagnose, prognose or prescribe. As a homeopath I offer information from repertorizing of symptoms, suggest homeopathic remedies and supplements, discuss nutrition and Flower Essences options.

Please note that I am not a vet but that any counseling I do provide is based on my training from the British Institute of Homeopathy, USA. It is my objective and intention to empower you, the client to make informed decisions about the health care of your animal, and assist you toward building good health. I hold qualification from BIH USA and I'm currently continuing my education toward a higher degree.

I've seen incredible healing with Homeopathy, Flower Essences, and Reiki/Energetics but the success is contingent on the guardian's detailed information, communication and participation in the process.

Consider keeping a Journal

It's very helpful to start a journal of symptoms to provide accurate information to a homeopath. Our lives become so busy that it's not always easy to remember information but the success in healing our animals is only as good as the information provided. Making notes helps us to become more observant guardians. Is there a particular time of the day that a symptom is apparent? Is one side of the body more affected than the other? Mentally/emotionally does your horse, cat, dog, cow or pig seem different? Especially note "peculiarities" about your pet:

What mental symptoms are being expressed such as anxiety, fear, sadness, confusion, aversion to company, clingy, and others. Who is your dog or cat in the world? Explaining your pet's temperament and "how they move in the world" or "what's their story" is really valuable in determining a homeopathic Constitutional remedy. These details are all part of the how a guardian needs to participate in the process of re-building the health of their animal – there is no one pill fits all in homeopathy.
